Responsibilities
- Safety Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Project Specific HSE Plan for assigned projects and hold the Project Team accountable for the implementation of the Traylor Industrial HSE Plan.
- Work closely with the site safety management to ensure the site safety team is adequate for the project and actively implement the safety program and participate in audits, job walks, and incident reviews as required by Traylor Industrial Policies and Guidelines.
- Quality Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Traylor Industrial quality program is implemented and maintained through the life-cycle of the project.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Site Specific Quality Plan and ensure that the requirements outlined in the Corporate Quality Manual and the Quality Standard Operating Procedures are monitored and controlled until the project has completed the close-out process.
- Identify quality requirements and ensure that proper processes are identified and implemented to achieve contractual quality commitments, while assessing customer perception of quality on a regular periodic basis.
- Personnel Responsibilities
- Ensure that all project employees clearly understand the vision and goals of the project.
- Create and sustain an environment of consistent Behavior-Consequence relationships stressing positive reinforcement to achieve the discretionary effort required to achieve and exceed the project goals while maintaining appropriate and timely progressive discipline relative to unacceptable behaviors before they adversely affect the project.
- Communicate roles, responsibilities, expectations and authorities to project team members and to verify that these expectations and responsibilities are communicated down to the workers through the proper path.
- Ensure a current project organization chart is published and available to the project team.
- Provide documentation of ongoing Claims, EEOC cases and terminations.
- Project Responsibilities
- Deliver expected results for financial, safety, quality, schedule performance and client satisfaction for assigned projects.
- Ensure that the project execution is in accordance with Traylor Industrial policies, procedures, systems and project specific requirements.
- Have a complete understanding of project specifications and contract requirements and must ensure that these are communicated and understood throughout the project organizational structure.
- Maintain control of all contractual commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract, trend programs, and change order timelines.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate activities of all project staff by direct supervision or through others on the project team.
- Absorb Traylor Industrial’s code of conduct and business ethics.
- Serve as the Traylor Industrial senior prime point of contact with the client for all day to day, local project issues.
- Responsible for enforcing contractual responsibilities and resolving disputes with the client.
- Ensure that all client communications related to the prime contract are documented and are in accordance with the terms of contract.
- Keep the client and Traylor Industrial advised of project status.
- Ensure timely progress payment requests are made to owner.
- Conduct periodic project and client meetings to promote and facilitate communication, review progress and performance, discuss issues and facilitate problem resolution.
- Define the precise scope of work and through delegation, identify changes between the original proposal and final contractual agreement.
- Handle all change orders, including negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Implement a change management plan and conduct negotiations of changes with the client.
- Assist and support the superintendent in establishing the project execution plan and major construction work plans ensuring that work packaging defined to meet execution, schedule and project controls reporting.
- Ensure that project controls are in place to manage and report budgets, costs and forecasts.
- Ensure that the monthly forecast is accurate, issued timely and is representative of the status of the project.
- Define and set-up of project progress and schedule baselines meet contract and project needs in terms of the ability to manage the execution of the project as well as providing necessary reporting to Traylor Industrial and client.
- Negotiate and issue subcontracts and monitor their progress, schedule, and risk of default.
- Review and approve bid tabulations for commitments on all major purchase orders, sub-contracts, and approve critical changes to these documents; within levels of authority as defined later in this document.
- Maintain a lessons learned log and ensure prior lessons learned are incorporated into new projects.
- Plan for contract close out, commissioning, and turnover manuals.
- Ensure processes and procedures are in place to document all turnover activities and obtain customers final acceptance of the work.
- Training Responsibilities
- Establish training plans and assist in the training of new project personnel through both formal training courses and on-the-job training.
- Assure training becomes an integral component of the execution of the project. Plan, prepare and perform training classes for all interested project employees throughout the project.
- Implement and monitor Traylor Industrial’s existing training programs.
- Implement and maintain leadership and encouragement in Traylor Industrial’s mentoring program.
- Craft Training and Craft performance evaluation.
- District Responsibilities
- Provide innovative initiatives to improve project performance, organization, and communication.
- Be a Mentor to other key members of the project staff.
- Be an ambassador of the company.
