Responsibilities
- Provides project management, construction oversight, coordination, and budget administration for Student Affairs renovation and construction projects.
- Manages projects throughout all phases including project development, design coordination, procurement, construction administration, project closeout, occupancy coordination, and warranty management.
- Develops project scopes of work, establishes design milestones and schedules, coordinates with university departments and consultants, monitors construction activities, manages project documentation and records, and ensures projects are completed in accordance with university standards and the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction and Professional Services Manual.
- Maintains strong working relationships with university stakeholders, consultants, contractors, maintenance staff, and regulatory personnel while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience managing construction and renovation projects.
- Knowledge of facility design processes, renovation projects, and construction administration.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and construction processes with the ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of construction trades including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and HVAC systems.
- Experience with procurement, budgeting, and fiscal management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and estimate project costs with a high degree of accuracy.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, and related computer software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, and/or BlueBeam software.
Qualifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or Architectural Intern designation/licensure.
- Experience with public procurement and administrative processes.
- Higher education facilities experience.
- Experience with project management software such as Primavera P6, Procore, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office products.
- Experience and knowledge of the Commonwealth of Virginia Construction and Professional Services Manual (CPSM).
Benefits
Salary: $70,000-$75,000 and commensurate with experience.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 7:30 am through 4:30 pm. Occasional evening or weekend work as required by project schedules.
