About the role
The Project Manager - Mechanical Construction will take full ownership of multiple projects and act as the commercial and operational lead throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large, complex mechanical projects from pre-construction through close-out
- Take full responsibility for project budgets, forecasting, cost control, billings and cash flow
- Manage contract administration, change management, procurement and subcontractor negotiations
- Oversee project scheduling, labour resourcing, productivity and field coordination
- Lead and develop high-performing Project Managers, Engineers and support staff
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, consultants, vendors and subcontractors
- Drive continuous improvement across project controls, processes and operational performance
Requirements
- Extensive experience delivering mechanical construction projects within an MEP contractor environment
- 15+ years' relevant project management experience, including responsibility for multiple large projects
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ownership of budgets, forecasts, billings and cash positions
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing autonomous teams and senior project staff
- Ability to negotiate complex commercial and contractual matters with senior stakeholders
- High level of organization, attention to detail and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Strong systems experience, ideally with ERP and project management platforms (e.g. Viewpoint, Bluebeam, CAD / VDC tools)
- Degree-qualified or equivalent combination of education and hands-on industry experience
