Project Manager

Primary Function

Responsible for the development, planning, execution, and monitoring of projects focused on the turnkey construction of high voltage electrical substations, transmission lines and distribution lines.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Accountable for the cost, schedule, safety, quality and completion of construction projects
• Coordinate work with Purchasing to ensure that requested material is expedited and received as needed for the construction of a project
• Manage multiple project teams
• Prepare and maintain cash flows, monthly billing, prepare and obtain change orders for assigned projects
• Prepare and maintain monthly construction progress reports, re-projections, files, etc., required for the construction of a project
• Resolve inter-group conflicts, project conflicts and delays as required to meet project construction goals
• Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments
• Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent is required
• Professional Registration is preferred
• 10 years experience in the design, construction, or operations of substations and/or transmission lines is required
• 10 years of experience in the supervision/management of budgets and work groups is strongly preferred

Skills

• Demonstrated understanding of substations, substation control and transmission systems
• Understand financial aspects of project control
• Interpersonal skills, technical knowledge, organizational ability and leadership talent
• Experience with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Working in a team environment
• Communicating effectively with co-workers
• Willing to travel to project sites as necessary

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year around weather conditions and noise
• Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
• Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically
• May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time
