Responsibilities

  • Win and manage engineering work in the metro Atlanta region
  • Facilitate the planning, design, and construction of complex water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects
  • Develop and execute budgets, schedules, contract obligations, and quality standards
  • Maintain significant relationships with new and existing clients
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects of medium to large size and moderate complexity
  • Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies
  • Determine program objectives and requirements, organize programs and projects
  • Explore subject areas, define scopes, select problems for investigation, and develop novel concepts and approaches
  • Act as the primary technical authority for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
  • Direct several subordinate supervisors or team leaders
  • Train and mentor internal staff
  • Plan and develop projects involving unique or controversial problems affecting major organization programs
  • Develop standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities
  • Make independent decisions on technical matters
  • Participate in proposal preparation, interview processes, and contract negotiations with clients
  • Support firm relationships with client management personnel
  • Identify and direct subconsultants performing services on projects
  • Engage in professional associations, presenting technical papers, serving on technical committees, and holding leadership roles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • 10-15 years of professional experience in delivering water and wastewater treatment, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution, pipeline rehabilitation, and/or pump station projects
  • Ability to deliver high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints
  • Ability to evaluate staff progress and results, and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives
  • Effective communication skills with multiple clients and project teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • Design and construction phase experience
