Responsibilities
- Win and manage engineering work in the metro Atlanta region
- Facilitate the planning, design, and construction of complex water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects
- Develop and execute budgets, schedules, contract obligations, and quality standards
- Maintain significant relationships with new and existing clients
- Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects of medium to large size and moderate complexity
- Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies
- Determine program objectives and requirements, organize programs and projects
- Explore subject areas, define scopes, select problems for investigation, and develop novel concepts and approaches
- Act as the primary technical authority for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments
- Direct several subordinate supervisors or team leaders
- Train and mentor internal staff
- Plan and develop projects involving unique or controversial problems affecting major organization programs
- Develop standards and guidelines for diverse engineering activities
- Make independent decisions on technical matters
- Participate in proposal preparation, interview processes, and contract negotiations with clients
- Support firm relationships with client management personnel
- Identify and direct subconsultants performing services on projects
- Engage in professional associations, presenting technical papers, serving on technical committees, and holding leadership roles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
- 10-15 years of professional experience in delivering water and wastewater treatment, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution, pipeline rehabilitation, and/or pump station projects
- Ability to deliver high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints
- Ability to evaluate staff progress and results, and recommend major changes to achieve overall objectives
- Effective communication skills with multiple clients and project teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
- Design and construction phase experience
