Project Manager
About the role
Apex Systems is hiring a mid-level Project Manager to lead a Data Center Risk Assessment engagement. The role involves coordinating and executing the assessment of 18 data centers within an 8-week timeframe, working closely with a Program Leader, Project Coordinator, and third-party vendor.
Responsibilities
- Drive day-to-day execution of the assessment program
- Maintain project schedules, timelines, and dependencies
- Track deliverables, milestones, and action items across all sites
- Serve as backup to the Program Lead when needed
- Create weekly status reports
- Schedule and host recurring status meetings
- Communicate with charter stakeholders, Apex leadership, and third-party partners
- Document meeting notes, decisions, and action items
- Coordinate badging and site access
- Manage communications related to all 18 site assessments
- Cook up data room/shared folder access and permissions
- Own meeting scheduling and follow-up activities
- Coordinate:
- 18 Pre-Kickoff Calls
- 18 Site Kickoff Calls
- 18 Post-Site Q&A Reviews
- 18 Final Report Reviews
- Additional weekly status meetings and ad hoc communications
Requirements
- Project management experience supporting infrastructure, facilities, network, telecom, or data center-related initiatives
- Strong scheduling and coordination skills
- Experience managing multiple parallel workstreams
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong documentation and reporting experience
- Microsoft 365 proficiency (Teams, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint)
- Extremely detail-oriented
- Self-starter who drives follow-up without constant direction
