About the role
Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our established Water Services team in Abilene, TX. This position will perform a wide array of Water Business Line planning, modeling, and design projects for clients in Texas, including:
- Distribution systems: conveyance and network piping, pump stations, storage units, and reservoirs
- Collection systems: interceptor, network, and outfall piping, pump stations
The Project Engineer will be led by a Senior Project Manager on a multi-discipline team focused on producing design-phase deliverables such as reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, sections, details, and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to ensure quality deliverables are met efficiently
- Communicate effectively with internal and external clients in one-on-one, group, or presentation settings
- Steer a team of junior project engineers and CAD Technicians to accomplish design, budget, and project requirements
- Gain marketing and project management experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to gain licensure within 6 months of hire
- 3 or more years of related water/wastewater design experience
- Familiarity with ODEQ regulations
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
Preferred Skills
- Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or Civil3D
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Design/build experience
