About the role

Garver is seeking a Project Engineer to join our established Kansas Water team in Wichita, KS. The Project Engineer will work under a Project Manager on a multi-discipline team focused on producing design-phase deliverables, including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans, sections, details, and specifications. This role involves close collaboration with clients to exceed their service expectations and performing engineering calculations and detailed design for projects such as:

  • Water distribution and transmission pipelines, including pumping and storage
  • Sewer collection systems, including pumping and lift stations
  • Water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Improvements and retrofitting of existing treatment facilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and detailed design for water and wastewater projects
  • Produce design-phase deliverables, including reports, technical memoranda, plans, and specifications
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure their expectations are exceeded
  • Work closely with multi-discipline design engineers and CAD technicians

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, biological, environmental, or similar engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 3+ years of experience in the design of water/wastewater systems
  • Registered as an Engineer Intern (EI) or ability to obtain registration within the next 6 months

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in civil, biological, or environmental engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • AutoCAD Civil 3-D experience
  • Experience with WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or other hydraulic modeling software
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become registered within 6 months of hire
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
