Project Coordinator

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties, is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator. The role involves working directly with youth facing housing insecurity and collaborating with community partners to support youth homelessness.

Responsibilities

• Outreach within the community to raise program awareness
• Host Home recruitment, training, and support
• Direct services to program participants, including finding appropriate support and placements at Host Homes
• Coordinate and implement YHDP (Youth Homeless Demonstration Project)
• Provide training opportunities for Host Home members
• Identify youth in need of support and recruit youth participants
• Network with schools, other youth-serving providers, and community groups
• Participate in training and meetings, including statewide Continuum of Care meetings and YHDP grantee meetings

Requirements

• Associate’s degree and 2-3 years of experience working with young people, particularly in areas of self-advocacy, youth development, or direct social services
• 1-2 years of documented experience working with children and families
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills
