About the Role

The El Segundo Children’s Residential Regional Office is recruiting for a permanent, full-time Program Technician. This position is located in El Segundo, CA.

Under close supervision of the Office Services Supervisor or Licensing Program Manager II (also known as the Regional Manager), the Program Technician performs program specialist work involving the operation of a licensing Regional Office. The role involves reviewing and processing forms and files of a semi-technical nature associated with specialized departmental programs. The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work in a team setting, and the capacity to work under pressure while dealing with regional office staff, representatives from other agencies, and public contacts. Failure to exercise judgment on sensitive information could result in delays of legal and administrative actions.

Responsibilities

• Perform program specialist work involving the operation of a licensing Regional Office.
• Review and process forms and files of a semi-technical nature associated with specialized departmental programs.
• Work collaboratively in a team setting and maintain effective communication with staff, other agencies, and the public.
• Exercise sound judgment on sensitive information to avoid delays in legal and administrative actions.

Requirements

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
• Must clear a Background Investigation prior to being hired.
• Subject to fingerprinting and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
• Must complete employment history accurately on the application form (STD 678). Incomplete or inaccurate employment history may disqualify candidates.
• If using education to meet minimum qualifications, unofficial transcripts must be included with the application. Official transcripts may be required if selected for hire.
• Candidates residing outside California may be admitted to the interview but must provide proof of California residency prior to appointment.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification for the Program Technician role. A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and should be no longer than two pages, single-spaced, in 12-point font. The SOQ should provide a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience, and skills qualify you for this position. Applications without an SOQ addressing each stated area will not be considered.

Pay

$3,316.00 - $4,456.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable.

Schedule

Permanent, full-time position.
