Program Technician
Under the general supervision of the Supervising Program Technician (SPT) II, the Program Technician in the Criminal Record Update Section reviews, analyzes, codes, verifies, and updates disposition information into the Automated Criminal History System (ACHS) and related criminal history databases. The PT will be trained and expected to perform all PT work processes and meet the unit averages as required by the Program for each work type. The PT may assist in the development and review of current and/or new program procedures, provide support and training to the Mail Intake Unit, and perform other related duties as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, code, verify, and update disposition information in the Automated Criminal History System (ACHS) and related criminal history databases.
- Perform all Program Technician work processes and meet unit averages for each work type.
- Assist in the development and review of current and/or new program procedures.
- Provide support and training to the Mail Intake Unit as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay
$3,316.00 - $4,456.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

This position is located in the California Justice Information Services Division, Bureau of Criminal Information & Analysis, Record Management Branch, Criminal Record Update Program, Criminal Record Update Section in Sacramento County.
Please note that all new to state employees will be given the minimum salary of the classification. For current state employees and/or those with reinstatement rights, salary will be determined in accordance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Effective July 1, 2025, state employees are subject to temporary wage reductions in exchange for Personal Leave Program (PLP) accruals. The specific rate and hours earned were negotiated and agreed upon by each bargaining unit. The actual monetary impact of these temporary reductions can vary based on your bargaining unit and/or federal and state tax withholdings.
