About the role
Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Program Support Worker is responsible for assisting in the Head Start / Early Head Start Center as assigned by their supervisor. The Program Support Worker may assist in numerous areas as needed to maintain center efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Transporting children to dental and speech appointments, field trips
- Assisting in the classrooms
- Assisting with supply pick up and stocking distribution
- Assisting with meal distribution
- Serving as center greeter
- Maintaining center cleanliness
- Ensuring bus and child safety
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
Licenses and Certifications
- Current Florida CDL license, Class B or above with airbrake and school bus and passenger endorsement
- Proof of a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Must complete the DCF 45-hour training within 6 months of employment
- Satisfactory criminal records check for abuse and neglect
- State required minimum vehicle insurance and uninsured motorist insurance
Requirements
- Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation
- Must meet all requirements of the Department of Children and Families
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, and stoop
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Work on a bus as well as in an office/classroom/kitchen setting as needed
Pay
$15.45 per hour
Schedule
Full Time: 40 hours/52 weeks
