Responsibilities

  • General Supervisory Support:
    • Provide supervisory support for 2 to 4 Home Visitors (HV) to include bi-weekly supervision sessions each month.
    • Ensure full time parent educators participate in a minimum of two hours of individual reflective supervision and a minimum of two hours of staff meetings.
    • Increase participation of part time parent educators in one hour of reflective supervision and two hours of staff meetings.
    • Support high-quality services to families.
    • Ensure that home visiting documentation is completed accurately and submitted in accordance with program policies.
    • Maintain monitoring of HV caseloads and home visit completion rates.
    • Observe each HV in home visits at least semi-annually and provide feedback that encourages professional development.
    • Routinely provide reflective supervision to HV to support their work with challenging families and enhance their abilities.
    • Develop and implement FSS initial training plans and ensure that assigned staff meets all Parents as Teachers (PAT) training requirements.
    • Work hours are flexible to meet the needs of families.
  • Family Services:
    • Develop and maintain working knowledge of the PAT Standards to ensure that the services provided by HV’s are in adherence with the PAT program model.
    • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources to support HV’s in their work with families.
    • Work with HV’s to ensure that each participating family completes required program assessment, is current with immunizations and well-child visits, and receives referrals to community resources in accordance with program policies and procedures.
    • Support HV’s with developing Family Goal Plans and monitors family progress towards goals.
    • Review and monitor family situations that result in the submission of incident reports and work with program staff to provide intervention services to families as needed.
    • Facilitate home visits as needed.
  • Program Support:
    • Function as a team leader by assisting with the facilitation of team meetings on a rotating basis and by providing daily support and crisis management.
    • Participate in administrative program meetings.
    • Aid in the selection of staff by conducting initial interviews.
    • Facilitate orientation trainings for new staff and assist with developing and revising staff trainings.
    • Aid in the revision of program forms and updating policies/procedures, as needed.
    • Support with the completion of annual participant satisfaction surveys and compilation of results.
    • Aid Program Manager with reporting and data management.
    • Work closely with the department PM & Director to obtain and maintain program certification and fidelity.
  • Networking and Coordination Activities:
    • Participate in PAT Supervisor meetings.
    • Participate in community meetings and work groups as applicable.
    • Facilitate community presentations about program services as needed.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Collaborate with agency staff from other programs when appropriate.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Programs and Services.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Mental Health, Nursing and Education, or equivalent) required.
    • Master’s Degree preferred

    Experience

    • Must possess at least 5 years of experience working directly with families with children in-home or in group settings.
    • Case management or service coordination experience preferred.

    Skills

    • A solid understanding of and/or experience in supervising and motivating staff, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments.
    • Experience in early childhood prevention services; home visitation experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of infant/child development, parent-child attachment, maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
    • Experience with providing family services that embrace the concepts of family–centered, strength-based, culturally sensitive service provision.
    • Possess strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to reflective supervision, data collection, and continuous quality improvement.
