About the role

The Program Coordinator II - Undergraduate Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with other members of the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Academic Affairs team to plan, develop and implement recruiting and retention programs. In addition, this position assists the Executive Director in establishing short and long-term operational and strategic planning goals.

Responsibilities

  • Executes undergraduate recruitment efforts consistent with CEHD’s strategic enrollment management goals.
  • Travels to community colleges, universities, prospective student centers, high schools, and other locations to represent the College of Education and Human Development.
  • Provides training materials and training sessions for partner institutions, related to pathway programs.
  • Collaborates with school staff, academic advisors, faculty, and PSA personnel to deliver undergraduate recruitment programming.
  • Plans and executes virtual information events to enhance student engagement regarding CEHD degree programs.
  • Affords support for programs, recruiting events, and other special events and programs related to undergraduate recruitment.
  • Coordinates with administrators at high schools and community colleges on recruiting for prospective students and providing scholarship information.
  • Supports use of SLATE system within the college and coordinates with external stakeholders and other users to maximize system capabilities.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding undergraduate recruitment program offerings.
  • Develops and maintains program records and databases, compiles statistics, and assists in program evaluation.
  • Assists the Executive Director in establishing short and long-term operational and strategic planning goals.
  • Provides coordination and support for programs, recruiting events, and other special events and programs related to undergraduate recruitment.
  • Works closely with visitor center to support University level recruitment programs.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to the University Recruiting and Admissions offices, Prospective Student Centers, Community Colleges, High Schools, and other entities directly engaged in recruiting and retention activities.
  • Supports CEHD faculty and staff answering inquiries from prospective students and families regarding CEHD programs, admission requirements and timelines.
  • Affords support for the college scholarship pre-awarding, awarding, post-awarding process.
  • Communicates with CEHD Development Office, Student Business Services, and Scholarships and Financial Aid to keep award documentation current in SOLOR and SPARTA databases.
  • Works with the CEHD Development and Business Offices to provide support of current and future awards as needed.
  • Audits student academic records to ensure they remain in good academic standing in accordance with scholarship criteria.
  • Supports CEHD transfer review process and ensures compliance with TAMU Office of Admissions on policies, practice, and initiatives.
  • Coordinates with TAMU Admissions Office identifying freshmen admitted to Gateway and Blinn Team programs who applied to CEHD majors and coordinates with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate transition into major.
  • Affords support in transfer application and readmit application review process and when necessary, coordinates with appropriate faculty / departments on decisioning of applications.
  • Coordinates CEHD recommendations on highly recruited students with TAMU Admissions.
  • Assesses program effectiveness using data and recommends improvements aligned with institutional goals.

    Qualifications

    • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three years of program coordination or recruiting and administration experience.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, or related field. Experience with student information systems (e.g., SLATE, HOWDY, SOLAR, COMPASS). Experience with admissions strategy, undergraduate recruitment, or reporting/analytics. Knowledge of undergraduate recruitment and higher education practices. Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures independently. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to use data to inform decisions. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex, deadline-driven environment. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
