About the role
This position supports school-based initiatives designed to strengthen family engagement, enhance school-family partnerships, and build students' social-emotional skills and resilience. A central component of this work is facilitating a multi-tiered system of training, coaching, technical assistance, and implementation support.
Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate the day-to-day operations of assigned projects and support the network of part-time school site coordinators.
- Independently assess community and school needs, analyze partner input and program data, and determine priorities for project implementation strategies.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and oversight to project team members across the network of participating schools to ensure compliance with project implementation requirements and family engagement best practices.
- Serve as a principal liaison between the USU project team and school district representatives such as prevention coordinators, principals, social workers, and family engagement staff to align programming with identified needs and for project recruitment, planning, implementation, and quality improvement.
- Career development or instructional design experience.
- Experience providing coaching or technical support to project implementation staff, coordinators, and/or educators.
- Experience teaching parenting education workshops.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Experience developing marketing plans and materials.
- Experience teaching or facilitating educational content to youth, adults, and/or school personnel.
- Experience with project management.
- Familiarity with all aspects of program implementation, from conceptualization to evaluating outcomes.
- Experience working for, or closely with, a land-grant Extension system.
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work or other related field, plus two years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in a related filed; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Direct experience working in or with schools and communicating with school administrators.
- Experience serving as a coach, mentor, or trainer.
- Curriculum development or instructional design experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience designing trainings and professional development opportunities.
- Willingness to work some evenings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Education, Human Development, Family Studies, Psychology, Social Work or other related field, plus four or more years of relevant experience.
