About the role
As a Program Coordinator II, you will oversee the operations of youth development or recreational programs and activities. This role involves community engagement, administrative support, and coordination of various athletic programs, tournaments, camps, and special events. You will assist in hiring and training employees and volunteers, verify financial reports, and provide clerical support. The position requires adaptability to unexpected challenges and a commitment to customer service and public relations.
Responsibilities
- Serve on FEMA/NIMS and Emergency Response Shelter programs
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees and volunteers
- Provide administrative support and verify daily cash reports for accuracy
- Submit incident reports and maintain communications with outside agencies
- Assist in registering clients for programs and organizing athletic programs, tournaments, camps, and special events
- Secure locations and solicit sponsors for events
- Provide information to the public regarding programs and special events
- Assist in preparation for public events and presentations
- Coordinate and attend meetings with staff and community
- Support other divisions within the department as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalency
- One (1) year of experience overseeing operations of programs and activities
- Current valid Class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg

Pay
$15.05 per hour
