Responsibilities
- Aid clients with practical needs such as hygiene products, linens, MetroCards, laundry detergent, dorm access, etc.
- Oversee weekly under-bed cleanouts and linen exchanges.
- Manage bed pack-ups, including inventory completion.
- Operate bed bug oven and monitor client laundry room as needed.
- Manage client property storage and disposal according to policy.
- Ensure supplies are adequately stocked in designated areas.
- Conduct new client intakes, including immediate needs assessments, form reviews, and database entry.
- Pick up and deliver packages, perform other errands as directed.
- Escort clients to appointments or other locations using agency vehicle or public transportation.
- Provide general clerical support, including filing, faxing, typing, photocopying, sorting mail, and data entry.
- Prepare mailings and answer telephones, relay messages, and greet clients and visitors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years relevant experience preferred.
- Proficiency in modern business communications, including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile, and copier equipment.
- Basic filing principles proficiency.
- Preferred but not required: Driver’s License from the state of residence for 8 am – 4 pm shift.
Physical Requirements
- Use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Occasional lifting and moving up to 10 pounds.
- Stand, walk, or sit for long periods.
- Climb five flights of stairs (if required for home visits).
- Bend and retrieve objects or documents.
- Travel within the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather (if required for home visits).
