Job Summary

The purpose of the Production Supervisor is to supervise processes and procedures within the production department. In specific, the operations and activities related to steel shop fabrication, production, scheduling. In addition, supervise the maintenance of records, quantities and destinations of materials received or improved. The Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining good morale, ensuring that safety, Quality and production policies and procedures are adhered to. Responsible for maximizing profits by maintaining an efficient and productive operation. The position is responsible to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner as well as overall personnel supervision as it relates to training and development of employees.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2 to 4 years’ in structural steel shop fabrication
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-directed and capable of interacting and communicating with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated and proven leadership skills and ability to motivate teams
  • Strong problem solving/troubleshooting experience
  • Excellent communication, listening and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good leadership skills and should be able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to follow deadlines and work under pressure
  • High School or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to translate policies into daily routine operations
  • ERP/MRP experience: Global Shop preferred
  • Successfully pass a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test

Education Requirements

  • College Degree highly preferred
  • Must have a High School Diploma, GED or at least 2 to 4 years of equivalent experience in the field and related work area
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook)
  • Understanding of Lean concepts

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire workings throughout the production department
  • Ensures the product being manufactured meets the company’s standards, policies and practices
  • Confer with the Production and Plant Manager to ensure that manufacturing objectives are being met
  • Schedule weekly time management approvals and submission to management in ERP system
  • Interviews department candidates
  • Addresses employee relations issues, such as work complaints or other employee concerns
  • Creates and administers employee written warnings and submit to management
  • Affords assistance with employee evaluations
  • Create a continuous improvement environment, teamwork, and a dedication to execute the right things the first time
  • Interact with employees and assist customers in response to their concerns, questions, or complaints
  • Recommends new equipment, methods and facilities to Management Team
  • Maintains production objectives by forecasting job requirements and potential barriers
  • Establishes priorities, controls process, and resolves issues to maintain efficiency
  • Effectively plan the use of personnel, production machinery and other resources
  • Affords assurance of compliance with corporate regulations pertaining to Human Resources and Safety
  • Works to improve production processes and procedures
