PRN Mohs Tech - General Lab - UH Truman Medical Center (varied shifts per week)

Job Description

The Histology Technician (Mohs Lab) at UH Truman Medical Center supports high-quality patient care by performing embedding, staining, sectioning, and cover slipping of histologic and Mohs specimens. They collaborate with Pathologists, Dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons to deliver accurate, timely, and reliable slide results.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree with 60 college credits (including 6 biology, 6 chemistry, and 12 science credits such as chemistry, biology, physics, or microbiology)
• 3 months of supervised training in the field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
• Certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP)
• Eligibility to obtain ASMS certification within one year
• Documented laboratory training in a Mohs lab
