PRN Dispatcher (Days)

About the Role

This position answers internal and external calls for Security Operations, averaging 2-3,000 transactions daily. The role involves handling routine and emergency calls for security assistance, dispatching security officers, responding to emergency situations and hospital/clinic codes, monitoring video screens, maintaining security logs, and managing notifications for security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.

Responsibilities

• Consistently answer calls using the standard company greeting.
• Solicit and document information from callers to determine the level of security assistance needed and dispatch officers accordingly.
• Respond to all codes and notifications during emergency incidents.
• Monitor hospital/clinic video screens and maintain security logs and associated computer entries.
• Handle all calls and on-call duties for security and emergency preparedness for the main campus and regional clinics.
• Make notifications for security incidents and emergency preparedness issues.
• Remain knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, or regulatory agency requirements relevant to the assigned area of responsibility and ensure compliance.
• Other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a telephone operator, dispatcher, or in a related role.
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.

• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
