Priest Chaplain - Spiritual Care

About the Role

The Roman Catholic Priest Chaplain is an ordained priest granted faculties by the local Catholic Bishop. As an integral part of the Spiritual Care Department, he ministers to the religious, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff at St. Jude Medical Center or St. Joseph of Orange, with special emphasis on the sacramental needs of Catholic patients. This is a part-time position working 8-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Minister to the religious, spiritual, and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff.
• Address the sacramental needs of Catholic patients.
• Serve as an integral part of the Spiritual Care Department.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Theology, Spirituality, or Pastoral Ministry.
• Completed (preferred) or in the process of completing 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
• National Chaplain Certification within 3 years of hire.
• Ordained Roman Catholic Priest with faculties granted by the local Catholic Bishop.

Preferred Qualifications

• Several years of pastoral experience following ordination.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $31.43 - $48.08 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
