About the role

The Head Start Lead Teacher will lead a preschool classroom serving children aged 3–5, creating a safe, engaging learning environment and implementing developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Head Start Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, engaging learning environment

  • Support school readiness across all developmental areas
  • Guide daily classroom operations
  • Mentor support staff
  • Monitor child progress
  • Build strong partnerships with families to ensure every child thrives

Requirements

Experience working in early childhood education, preferably in a Head Start setting, is required. A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred, along with a valid teaching license. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with families and colleagues.

Qualifications
