Preschool Lead Teacher - Full-Time, Full-Year

About the role

The Head Start Lead Teacher will lead a preschool classroom serving children ages 3–5, creating a safe, engaging learning environment and implementing developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Head Start Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, engaging learning environment
• Implement developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Head Start Performance Standards
• Support school readiness across all developmental areas
• Guide daily classroom operations
• Mentor support staff
• Monitor child progress
• Build strong partnerships with families

Requirements

• Experience leading a preschool classroom
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
• Ability to implement developmentally appropriate instruction
• Strong interpersonal skills for building partnerships with families
• Experience mentoring support staff
• Ability to monitor child progress and guide classroom operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Current Ohio Early Childhood Educator License
• At least 2 years of experience working with young children in a classroom setting
• Experience with data collection and analysis
