About the role

The Preschool Lead Teacher at the Central Community Branch YMCA supports the Y, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. This position oversees the preschool program, manages its budget, and ensures compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct program delivery in the classroom, at least 80% of the time.
  • Manage the preschool program, including budgeting, program statistics, activity scheduling, and record maintenance.
  • Supervise existing program activities, establish new ones, and expand the program within the community.
  • Aid in marketing and distributing program information.
  • Absorb compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and ensure YMCA standards are met.
  • Develop and implement curriculum based on The Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold assessment.
  • Conduct bi-yearly parent-teacher conferences.
  • Recruit and onboard diverse staff, assist in their development, and evaluate performance.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including weekdays, early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • Participate in Y activities and committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum EEC Director I qualified.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Working with Program Volunteers, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens training within 30 days of hire.
  • Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program-specific training.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Benefits

Pay

$19.00-$24.00/hour (based on education and experience).

Schedule

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:15am - 4:15pm (with one hour break).
