Preschool Lead Teacher- Full-Time, Part-Year

About the role

The Head Start Lead Teacher will lead a preschool classroom serving children ages 3–5, creating a safe, engaging learning environment and implementing developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Head Start Performance Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, engaging learning environment
  • Implement developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Support school readiness across all developmental areas
  • Guide daily classroom operations
  • Mentor support staff
  • Monitor child progress
  • Build strong partnerships with families

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Lead Teacher in a Head Start program
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Valid Ohio Early Childhood Professional Certification (ECP)
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Pay

  • $18.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience
