Practice Manager, West
Job Summary
TYLin is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial City Solutions Practice Manager to lead and grow our Los Angeles transportation planning and advisory practice.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to achieve annual sales goals.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
Lead pursuits, including teaming, proposals, interviews, pricing strategies, and go/no-go decisions.
Partner with Practice, Sector, and Area Leaders to grow TYLin's presence in the Southern California market.
Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on strategic projects.
Ensure high-quality project delivery, client satisfaction, and effective resource planning.
Promote quality assurance and technical excellence across the practice.
Manage regional financial performance, including revenue, utilization, profitability, and forecasting.
Oversee business planning and operating budgets.
Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional registration preferred.
Approximately 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in consulting or the public sector, including leadership experience.
Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.
Strong operational and financial management skills.
Established relationships within the Southern California transportation market.
Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
Additional Information
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $216,000 – $260,000 annually for this position and local market.
