Practice Manager, West
Job Summary
TYLin is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial City Solutions Practice Manager to lead and grow our Los Angeles transportation planning and advisory practice.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
- Business Development & Client Leadership:
- Develop and execute business development and marketing strategies to achieve annual sales goals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
- Lead pursuits, including teaming, proposals, interviews, pricing strategies, and go/no-go decisions.
- Partner with Practice, Sector, and Area Leaders to grow TYLin's presence in the Southern California market.
- Project Delivery:
- Serve as Project Principal or Project Manager on strategic projects.
- Ensure high-quality project delivery, client satisfaction, and effective resource planning.
- Promote quality assurance and technical excellence across the practice.
- Operations & Team Leadership:
- Manage regional financial performance, including revenue, utilization, profitability, and forecasting.
- Oversee business planning and operating budgets.
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; professional registration preferred.
- Approximately 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in consulting or the public sector, including leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.
- Strong operational and financial management skills.
- Established relationships within the Southern California transportation market.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
Additional Information
TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $216,000 – $260,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
