About the Role
The Practice Manager will provide leadership and management to the practice, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly with appropriate systems, policies, and procedures in place. This role drives quality clinical outcomes, patient, staff, and physician satisfaction, and excellent financial performance. The Practice Manager collaborates with physicians and administration to develop and implement business plans, measure performance, and implement improvements.
Schedule
On-site in Stamford, CT, Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the overall operational responsibility for routine business and clinical functions, including front desk, medical records, nursing, and ancillary services to ensure efficient delivery of services.
- Supervise staff and manage all administrative and clinic activities, resolving medical-administrative problems and maintaining high employee morale.
- Develop and implement the practice’s mission and strategic vision collaboratively.
- Provide leadership in developing, planning, and implementing business plans for physicians, measuring productivity, and facilitating problem-solving.
- Recommend and implement improvements for the practice, keeping physicians and executive leadership informed about trends, problems, and activities.
- Collaborate with Clinical Services to ensure compliance with all clinical policies and procedures.
- Oversee recruitment, development, and performance evaluation of employees in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Manage the business and financial affairs of the practice in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle Financial Department.
- Oversee third-party payer relationships, including reimbursement monitoring, contract negotiation, provider credentialing, and contract maintenance.
- Enhance operational effectiveness with an emphasis on cost containment without compromising innovation or quality of care.
- Maintain compliance with Medicare, HIPAA, OSHA, Federal, and Labor Laws.
- Represent the practice in relationships with other health organizations, government agencies, and third-party payers.
- Ensure maintenance of the physical building, including routine equipment maintenance.
- Promote excellence in customer service and support the customer service plan.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Code of Conduct and ethical work environment.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including department-specific requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare OR five years of experience managing a medical practice with additional certification in project management, leadership management, organizational leadership, business strategy, leadership & ethics, lean six sigma, or medical practice management.
- Strong human resources and supervisory experience with 25+ employees.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with English proficiency.
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated success in program implementation, operations, and fiscal management.
- Excellent knowledge of information technology and its application in the healthcare environment.
- Electronic medical records experience is strongly preferred.
