About the Role

Central Indiana Orthopedics (CIO), founded in 1950 and a proud partner of OrthoAlliance within SCA Health, is an independent orthopedic practice in central Indiana providing compassionate, expert care for bone, joint, and muscle conditions. CIO offers comprehensive orthopedic services, including joint replacement and revision, podiatry, spine and interventional pain management, sports medicine, and work-related injury care. Patients also have access to imaging, physical therapy, outpatient surgery, and Walk-In Clinics for same-day orthopedic care across locations in Anderson, Fishers, Marion, Muncie, and Zionsville.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, volunteers, and students in the PT department.
• Develop, implement, and monitor all patient care programs, performance improvement initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure adequate qualified personnel, space, and equipment to maintain high-quality patient care.
• Integrate facility and operations plans with the organization’s goals for continuous performance improvement.
• Attend department, clinic, or company meetings as required.
• Demonstrate sound judgment and respond flexibly to changing situations.
• Supervise facility activities, including scheduling patients, preparing reports, and managing staff and student training programs.
• Evaluate all patients referred for physical therapy and ensure completion of evaluation reports.
• Practice physical therapy consistent with the American Physical Therapy Association Code of Ethics and company standards.
• Maintain a patient treatment schedule and communicate patient needs, progress, and modifications to relevant parties.
• Prepare and submit confidential reports, including evaluation summaries, discharge reports, progress notes, and daily attendance records.
• Attend company quarterly meetings and hold regular facility meetings to discuss activities, patient needs, and future goals.
• Stay abreast of new techniques and trends in physical therapy and share knowledge with staff.
• Engage in public relations activities, such as preparing talks for community groups.
• Delegate duties appropriately and assist with recruitment, orientation, and evaluation of personnel.
• Interpret and carry out physician prescriptions while maintaining good public relations and protecting confidential data.
• Ensure economic use of time, equipment, and supplies, and prioritize the safety and welfare of patients and employees.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved PT school with a Master of Science degree and at least 2 years of department/facility experience, including 1 year of supervisory experience, or a Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 5 years of department/facility experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Must have or be eligible for State Licensure of Registration (must obtain within one year or per state law).
• Good physical stamina, including the ability to walk, stand, stoop, lift, and perform job duties without limitations.
• Knowledge of PT principles, APTA Code of Ethics, company policies, and management techniques.
• Ability to operate equipment, perform technical procedures, and communicate professionally with patients, doctors, and staff.
• Ability to make independent decisions, adapt to emergencies, and evaluate patient conditions and facility activities.
• High degree of accuracy in carrying out prescriptions, charting, and reporting.
• Coordination of sight and body movements for patient handling and procedural techniques.
• Current state licensure/registration and CPR certification.
• Continuing or post-graduate education consistent with the scope and needs of the patient population.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Make recommendations and decisions for hiring, corrective actions, terminations, and performance evaluations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently hear and communicate orally, see up close and at a distance, read, and comprehend.
• Ability to stand, sit, walk, reach, handle objects, climb, pull, push, and kneel.
• Ability to demonstrate exercises properly without limitations.
• Maximum unassisted lift: 50 lbs. Average lift: 25-50 lbs.

Pay

USD $90,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year.
