Practice Manager II — Clinic Admin
About the role
The Practice Manager II at Mercy Health Defiance Clinic is responsible for overseeing the operations of one or more physician practices, supporting up to six providers, and managing a minimum of ten full-time equivalent employees. This role ensures high-quality care and services are provided to patients and achieves annual operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a role model for behavior, professionalism, and outstanding customer service.
- Manages day-to-day operations, including staff and provider schedules, performance management, and communication with team members.
- Facilitates troubleshooting and follow-up to maintain effective relationships among providers, staff, customers, and peers.
- Adheres to quality, compliance, and risk standards for operations, including supply chain management and invoice processing.
- Manages revenue cycle processes, including registration workflows, work queues, copays, cash drawer management, bank deposits, and coding compliance.
- Analyzes financial and billing reports to support decision-making and reporting.
- Participates in planning and budgeting, and coordinates support functions to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Handles personnel functions, including check-ins, evaluations, and onboarding new providers and APCPs.
Requirements
- High school diploma (required)
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- BLS Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association (preferred, required if performing clinical functions within 90 days of hire)
- Four years of recent experience in healthcare (required)
- Two years of supervisory experience (required)
