Practice Manager - Denton, TX

About the role

In partnership with the chief of staff, the Practice Manager is responsible for managing day‑to‑day operations of a Banfield veterinary hospital so the medical team can focus on delivering high‑quality veterinary care. The role involves driving business results, developing associates, fostering an engaging team environment, and collaborating with veterinary staff, field leadership, corporate headquarters, and PetSmart® associates where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, and develop associates; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Evaluate hospital processes, progress, and productivity; implement improvements.
• Train associates on educating clients about Optimum Wellness Plans®, preventive care, pet health needs, and hospital services.
• Educate associates on Banfield guidelines and best practices.
• Budget, plan, and monitor financial performance for the hospital.
• Support daily operations and staff to ensure smooth workflow.
• Schedule associates, coordinate time‑off requests, and manage continuing‑education needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Minimum three years of related experience (health care, veterinary profession, service industry, etc.).
• Direct supervisory experience, including hiring and associate development.

Pay

The annual pay range for this position is $60,631 – $87,578, with the specific rate determined by experience, skill level, abilities, education, location, and schedule.
