About the role
The role involves overseeing the clinical and administrative aspects of the practice, including profitability, revenue goals, and CORE metrics. The position also entails leading the practice's operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting patient and staff satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Directs internal practice operations and develops benchmarks, tracking progress and implementing changes.
- Works with the Site Medical Director to align the practice with IHA’s priorities and develops the practice’s vision and direction.
- Develops and implements the CORE Work plan, reviews patient care quality data, and manages staff.
- Ensures the highest quality of care is provided by the practice, monitors risk assessments, and promotes staff education.
- Hires, trains, supervises, evaluates, disciplines, and terminates staff, and organizes training programs.
- Manages compliance with federal, state, and safety regulations, and supports the development of quality and patient safety plans.
- Communicates respectfully and cooperatively with management, staff, patients, and vendors, and attends meetings to review progress and problems.
- Participates in new business development and implements marketing programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred with a combination of 1-2 years’ relevant work experience or a combination of 1-2 years’ relevant work experience and a Master’s degree.
- Credentials/Licenses: Practice Management Certification or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Experience: Prior leadership experience in a medical office environment or other relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years in combination with meeting education requirements. Requires two years of experience directly supervising non-exempt staff.
Skills
- Knowledge of health care functions, including clinical functions, medical billing and coding procedures, reimbursement practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of legal and compliance aspects of health information systems and best practices in medical office operations.
- Proficiency in operating a standard desktop and Windows-based computer system, including EMR software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including proper phone etiquette.
- Ability to speak before groups of people, either in-person or virtually, and resolve conflict in situations where the audience may be less than receptive.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, display courteous and friendly demeanor, and work effectively with various levels of organizational members and diverse populations.
- Good organizational and time management skills to effectively juggle multiple priorities, time constraints, and large volumes of work.
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, ability to coordinate, direct, and supervise the work of others, analyze and interpret data for appropriate and effective responses, and maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information.
