About the role

This position is primarily responsible for providing oversight of center staff, operations, services, and processes in conjunction with leaders of MD affiliated clinics. The Practice Manager will provide finance and accounting reports for individual centers and work closely with the Support Center and respective Director of Operations.

The role is responsible for all aspects of center operations, including staffing, patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, identifying training needs, enhancing overall patient and employee experience, and proactively addressing areas of opportunity within the center.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations team and MD affiliated clinic leaders to develop and implement an annual business plan for the center, including projected surgical volume, revenue, budget, and profit projections.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and staff within the center.
  • Prepare and authorize financial submissions to the Support Center.
  • Provide oversight and conduct audits of patient charts to ensure appropriate billing and documentation.
  • Respond to patient inquiries, complaints, and reviews in a timely and professional manner; provide feedback to the internal team when opportunities for improvement are identified.
  • Track performance indicators and review monthly and quarterly profit and loss statements; use this information for strategic planning.
  • Develop staff schedules and oversee patient flow and operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage staffing needs against revenue performance.
  • Oversee hiring, terminating, training, and/or coaching of staff.
  • Motivate the team by goal setting and clarifying priorities in alignment with company objectives.
  • Partner with the Area Manager and Marketing Team to expand the network of referrals in the doctor community and identify local marketing opportunities.
  • Attend continuing education events, dinners, and marketing events to promote awareness of NVISION services in the community.
  • Interface with the Support Center and department leads to ensure effective resource allocation from Finance, Operations, Marketing, and Training perspectives.
  • Promote NVISION surgeons and services in the community and play an active role in the satisfaction of referring optometrists.
  • Navigate difficult discussions regarding performance improvement plans, coaching, and professional development.
  • Seek innovative ways to integrate changes that enhance the overall patient and staff experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven track record of success in a medical/healthcare setting managing teams and operations.
  • Adept at navigating complex situations and identifying practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Business acumen needed to successfully lead center initiatives and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
