Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities of the staff, facility maintenance, and clinical functions of medical support staff.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Medical Secretaries, Medical Records staff, Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Registered Nurses.
- Monitor and evaluate practice financial and operational performance as a member of the Leadership Team; initiate corrective action where appropriate.
- Coordinate clinical activities with site providers and/or Medical Director.
- Handle, report, and assist in resolving patient complaints, billing issues, and other administrative concerns.
- Monitor staff use of the practice management system for accuracy; identify issues and training requirements.
- Manage timely documentation of patient visits.
- Work with the Compliance Department to ensure proper handling of protected health information.
- Interface with outside organizations regarding patient services, including translation and transportation.
- Authorize payments for invoices per organizational protocols.
- Ensure payment processing and proper recording of financial records/transactions in accordance with established policies.
- Oversee timely completion and submission of service billing codes and daily production reconciliation reports.
- Collect, compile, and submit accurate financial and statistical data.
- Review and approve invoices and statements as appropriate.
- Maintain and coordinate services for facility, property, and equipment.
- Ensure PCMH (Patient-Centered Medical Home) activities are conducted according to PCMH Standards and MedLink Georgia policies.
- Participate in daily team huddles to ensure successful implementation.
- Monitor PCMH standards and report barriers to successful implementation to the MedLink Corporate PCMH designee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business/management or healthcare management.
- Two years of medical practice or public health clinic management experience, with one year of supervisory/management experience at the department level.
- In lieu of a degree, a combination of equivalent education and work experience will be considered.
