About the role
Facilitates, plans, organizes and directs the daily operations and the provision of quality and cost effective patient care at the facility in accordance with established standards of care, agency policies/procedures and the mission of Damian Family Care Centers, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates the ability and initiative to develop and maintain systems and processes that promote the continuum of patient care.
- Is responsible for completion of Prior Authorizations for patients.
- Collaborates with Medical providers in identifying specific needs for the patients and the staff to ensure that these needs are addressed and able to be given.
- Prepares staffing schedules in accordance with the approved staffing methodologies and facilitates the appropriate allocation of staff on a daily basis to meet patient, provider and operational needs.
- Demonstrates the ability and initiative to apply acceptable leadership skills in setting priorities, delegating appropriately, managing time, resolving conflict and facilitating change.
- Provides leadership and oversight with assignments delegated to support staff and medical personnel.
- Maintains a clean, safe and therapeutic work environment in the health center.
- Identifies, investigates and reports patient/environmental safety factors and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Ensures and maintains a clean, safe and therapeutic work environment in the health center.
- Communicates with pharmacies as well as insurance companies to ensure that any issues that need to be addressed for our patients are addressed in order to ensure that medications, referrals to other providers, and/or procedures/diagnostic imaging can be done by our patients when ordered by our medical staff.
- Assists patients with the Referral process to ensure that the patients are able to access and obtain timely appointments with outside providers in order to ensure that the patients are receiving the care that DFCC providers have ordered.
- Performs all related duties, as assigned or, unrelated duties, as requested, during emergencies.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Business or related field highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years management experience required, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Must be creative, kind, intuitive team player with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook and Word.
- Demonstrated proficiency in electronic health records, ECW.
