Responsibilities

• Evaluate neuronal control of macrophage function in the heart using fundamental science tools.
• Test how neurotransmitters and neuropeptides modify macrophage subsets and inflammatory processes in the heart and its vasculature under various conditions.
• Use mouse modeling and handling techniques, flow cytometry, advanced confocal imaging of the heart, single cell sequencing, and neuronal manipulation methods like neuronal ablation, neuropeptide deletion, and brain circuit manipulation.
• Conduct molecular assays such as protein quantification and mRNA expression.

Qualifications

• PhD in Neuroscience, Immunology, Physiology, or related field.
• Experience in mouse models and handling, flow cytometry, and advanced imaging techniques.
• Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and single cell sequencing.
• Experience with neuronal manipulation methods and brain circuit manipulation.
• Strong publication record in relevant fields.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
