Post Operative Nurse

About the role

Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a 14-bed Critical Care Step Down Unit, primarily managing patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, COPD, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and sepsis. The unit is equipped with advanced technology, including telemetry monitoring, virtual whiteboards, and patient lifts.

Responsibilities

• Interpret EKGs and provide central line care
• Perform bedside procedures such as endoscopies and bronchoscopies
• Manage ventilators, including Bi-PAP and mechanical ventilation
• Collaborate with Patient Care Nursing Assistants, Nurse Interns, providers, and therapy teams to deliver comprehensive care

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Active Ohio RN licensure
• BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire)
• ACLS certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)

For PRN positions: at least 1 year of relevant RN experience and all certifications required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Professional certification recognized by the Magnet designation
