About the role
Supervise and assist in installation and emergency repair of plumbing systems, underground utilities and sewer systems statewide. Instruct and train personnel in the operation of plumbing, sewer and underground utility systems. Perform required tests and collect data to improve and maintain efficiency and performance of all related systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and assist in installation and emergency repair of plumbing systems, underground utilities and sewer systems statewide.
- Submit requisitions and estimated costs on routine maintenance and institutional repairs.
- Instruct and train personnel in the operation of plumbing, sewer and underground utility systems.
- Perform required tests and collect data to improve and maintain efficiency and performance of all related systems.
- Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Requirements
- A high school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air, water, gas or waste disposal systems.
- A high school diploma and 5 years of trades experience directly related to fire/sprinkler systems.
- Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct and work with other people.
- Employees are required to obtain a backflow tester license through DHEC.
