Responsibilities
- Develop automatic fire sprinkler protection maintenance, repair, and inspection program throughout SCDC in accordance with NFPA 25 and state Fire Marshall regulations.
- Perform maintenance on all sprinkler systems and water distribution systems.
- Supervise and install sprinklers and related systems in construction/renovation projects.
- Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency sprinkler maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed.
- Prepare justification and requisitions for all supplies; remain abreast of new sprinkler techniques, procedures, and equipment.
- Recommend the procurement of and assist in supervising the installation of new sprinkler and underground utilities.
- Maintain NICET certification, level three or higher.
- Successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Five (5) years of trades experience directly related to fire/sprinkler systems.
- Ability to supervise, direct, instruct, and work with other people.
- Obtain a backflow tester license through DHEC.
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of air, water, gas, or waste disposal systems.
