Position Summary

An entry level position that involves preparing original shop drawings or maps with extensive and complex details using computerized drafting methods. The role requires producing accurate fabrication detail drawings and complex complete fabrication drawings or maps with a high degree of technical accuracy. It also involves performing work according to established practices and guidelines, demonstrating initiative and judgment, and being familiar with the requirements of associated disciplines. Decisions and recommendations are made within established guidelines and procedures, and exercises initiative in completing recurring assignments.

Essential Job Functions

• Produces accurate fabrication detail drawings.
• Produces complex and complete fabrication drawings or maps with a high degree of technical accuracy.
• Performs work according to established practices and guidelines.
• Demonstrates initiative and judgment in selecting, placing, and accentuating detail or identifying problems.
• Is required to be familiar with the requirements of associated disciplines.
• Makes decisions and recommendations within established guidelines and procedures.
• Exercises initiative in completing recurring assignments.

Direction Received

Works under direct supervision and is expected to complete familiar assignments and solve problems. The work is reviewed in progress and when non-recurring methods are used or when modifications are not covered by specific instructions.

Direction of Others

No direction of others is expected.

Minimum Qualifications

• Understanding of basic piping components.
• Understanding of fabrication practices.
• A high school graduate or GED.
• Extreme attention to detail.

Skills Required

• Working knowledge of applicable software, including but not limited to Bluebeam, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Working knowledge of schematic drawings.

Office environment. May require some coordination in the working shop environment.

Travel Requirement

Occasional travel may be required but is minimal.
