About the role

The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education to enhance patient well-being, following a plan of care under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow all state laws and supervise PT-directed treatment procedures within qualifications.
• Instruct patients in active/passive exercises, gait, activities of daily living (ADL), transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes, coordinating care with the healthcare team.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and team members within scope.
• Adapt to diverse home environments, ensuring inclusive care.

Requirements

• Current licensure, registration, or certification to practice physical therapy in the relevant state.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.
• Availability for weekend rotations.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR certification.
• Physical ability to perform mobility tasks.

Key Duties

• Implement treatment plans.
• Instruct patients and families.
• Monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective care delivery.
