About the role
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides patient care under supervision, assisting with physical therapy interventions, monitoring progress, and documenting all care according to policy and standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow established treatment plans, modify procedures within scope, and educate patients/caregivers.
- Assist with therapeutic activities, patient positioning, transfers, and use of medical equipment.
- Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapist, including co-visits and re-assessments.
- Manage caseload, deliver services at patients' homes or facilities, and participate in team meetings and training.
- Travel to patient locations, using approved transportation, and handle technology devices and supplies.
- Contribute to special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- NY State Certification as a PTA and an Associate’s Degree from an approved program.
- Minimum of two years clinical experience; bilingual skills and basic PC skills preferred.
- Valid driver’s license may be required based on operational needs.
