About the Role
This position involves administering standard physical therapy treatments for disabilities, injuries, and diseases to improve patient outcomes. The therapist works under limited supervision, collaborates with the healthcare team, and ensures compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Providing patient assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans based on physician orders.
- Documenting patient progress and discharge information accurately and timely.
- Supervising treatments by PT assistants and aides, and instructing home care personnel on proper techniques.
- Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and performance improvement activities.
- Coordinating with other healthcare professionals and community resources to optimize patient care.
- Ensuring adherence to all licensing, certification, and continuing education requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or related field; current California PT license.
- One to two years of relevant experience preferred.
- Valid California driver’s license, current BLS certification, and ability to interpret physician orders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to relate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to work independently, with analytical and diagnostic skills to develop effective treatment plans.
Physical & Work Environment
- Requires frequent bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
- Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols, including use of therapy equipment and general office tools.
