Physical Therapist Assistant (Home Health)

About the role

Per Diem or Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant providing patient treatment, exercise instruction, and education to improve patient well-being in home care settings.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws and the treatment plan established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Instruct and assist patients with exercises, gait, ADLs, transfers, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, document, and report patient responses and condition changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers within the scope of practice.
• Adapt to various home environments, ensuring inclusive, patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Current licensure, registration, or certification in physical therapy practice.
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, or access to transportation.
• Availability for weekend work.
• Preferred: CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
• Preferred: Physical ability for mobility assistance tasks.

Pay

Total cash earnings range from $55,329 to $82,993 annually, based on full-time productivity, including per visit pay and hourly rates. Compensation adjusts according to local market, experience, and performance.
