About the Role

The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of our company to patients, providing care during routine health visits or critical health decisions. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring a trusting, professional atmosphere for patients. The Phlebotomist III - Float covers multiple locations and roles, including Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy, while demonstrating leadership and process excellence.

Successful applicants may work in doctor's offices, patient service centers, house calls, long-term care, or other settings as business needs dictate. Responsibilities include leading daily activities, coaching and mentoring new employees, onboarding new clients, and serving as a point of contact for staff. This role may also involve working with high-complexity or high-volume practices, requiring advanced phlebotomy skills and strong customer-facing abilities, including communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with teams like Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Prepare blood specimens for lab testing while adhering to established practices and procedures.
• Provide coverage at multiple locations, including Patient Service Centers, Mobile, Long Term Care, and In-Office Phlebotomy settings.
• Ensure daily activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Act as a leader, coach, mentor, and instructor for new employees and provide onboarding services for new clients.
• Serve as a point of contact for staff and provide regular input to supervisors.
• Handle high-complexity or high-volume practices with specialized phlebotomy skills and strong customer service.
• Collaborate with multiple functions, including Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum of 3 years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.
