About the role

The Certified Pharmacy Technician assists Pharmacists in all daily activities related to department workflow while adhering to established policies and procedures. This role involves procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications, as well as maintaining equipment and technology necessary for efficient operations. The technician facilitates exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers and contributes to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.
• Consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaints.
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Requirements

• TN State Pharmacy Tech license required.
• PTCB Certification required.
• Hospital experience required.
