Pharmacy Tech II
Responsibilities
- Assists the Pharmacy department by preparing or distributing medications for use by patients.
- Transcribes abbreviated and symbolized information from physicians’ orders onto patient medication profiles through manual and computer entry.
- Selects and/or prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, intravenous admixtures.
- Performs repetitive and manipulative activities which primarily consist of drug distribution duties, pre-packaging, stocking and maintaining drug inventory in the automated dispensing cabinets and Carousel, sterile and non-sterile compounding, record keeping, billing.
- Ensures medication security.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Three (3) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid CA Pharmacy Technician registration.
- Completion of CMH sterile compounding core skills evaluation within ninety (90) days of hire.
