Job Summary
Job Type: Full Time Job Shift: RotatingResponsibilities
- Accurately fill and label medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner. - Accurately stock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) in a timely manner. - Fill/refill emergency crash carts, boxes, and kits timely and accurately. - Re-package and label oral medications/extemporaneous preparations and maintain appropriate records. - Respond appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests, and ADC stock out bulletins. - Ensure all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing. - Stock medications into pharmacy inventory, including sterile compounding areas. - Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications. Deliver medications to patient care areas. - Attend to medication requests and phone calls. - Prepare complex IV admixtures (i.e., chemotherapy, biotherapy) accurately, consistent with IV policies and procedures (USP less than 797 > and USP less than 800 >). - Comply with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures. Assist in performing various duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education:- Required: High school graduate or equivalent
- Required: 3 years of pharmacy experience
- PREFERRED: 2 years of hospital experience
- Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician certification, as required by state law. Accredited training in sterile products preparation and IV Admixture Certification
Physical Demands
- Lift/position up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull up to 50 lbs. of force.
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, and bending.
- Manual dexterity, mobility, touch, auditory to perform all the related duties of the position.
