About the Role

The Pharmacy Manager, Infusion Services provides leadership for all clinical, operational, and financial affairs of the Jackson Health System (JHS) Infusion Services Department. This role ensures exceptional quality of care and fulfillment of the organizational mission by developing and executing strategic initiatives that support the overall strategic plan of JHS. The incumbent oversees integration and compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, while advising medical staff on pharmaceutical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Sets defined goals, objectives, and timetables for implementing pharmaceutical care tailored to the needs of Infusion Services patients.
  • Establishes and measures performance standards and quality assurance monitors for medication delivery and use.
  • Develops and ensures compliance with hospital-wide policies and maintains records consistent with guidelines from JCAHO, FDA, DEA, ATF, Florida Board of Pharmacy, ACHC, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains continuous communication with patient care centers, ancillary departments, administrative staff, medical staff, nursing, and case management.
  • Serves as a resource for staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, case managers, and patient care coordinators on clinical activities and education.
  • Conducts regular rounds to inspect and evaluate departmental personnel and responds to customer feedback.
  • Develops, prepares, and presents departmental revenue, expense, and statistical budgets, ensuring adequate resource allocation.
  • Recruits, orients, motivates, and maintains an effective staff to carry out assigned responsibilities.
  • Develops and supervises policies and procedures for Infusion Services, ensuring regular review and updates for compliance.
  • Monitors and assesses staff performance for quality and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Establishes specifications for drugs and supply items and ensures adherence during procurement.
  • Implements security and inventory control procedures to protect the hospital’s investment in drugs, supplies, and equipment.
  • Serves as a liaison to affiliated Colleges of Pharmacy and supervises clinical education programs.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of infusion services equipment, technology, and service philosophies, recommending improvements as needed.
  • Builds and maintains a strong network of professional contacts at local, state, and national levels.
  • Contributes to the collective pharmaceutical knowledge through publications and presentations.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (Pharm.D.) and residency training required.
  • Valid Florida Consultant Pharmacist License required.
  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience, with supervisory experience required.
