About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides comprehensive, high-acuity medical care to critically ill patients in collaboration with intensivists, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams. The APP functions as an integral member of the critical care team, delivering evidence-based care, performing advanced procedures, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Join a team of 9 critical care advanced practitioners while being supported by Pulmonary Critical Care attending physicians
- 100% clinical practice seeing average of 15 patients per day with Inpatient management (Avg 3-4 patients) and consults (Avg 12 patients) including procedures such as intubations, central lines, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, arterial lines etc.
- 1-2 12-hour shifts per month required. Shifts include days and nights in ICU and step down unit
- 1+ years of ICU experience preferred
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Provider (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in good standing
- Current CPR certification
- Experience in an ICU setting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medicine, or related field
- Completion of an accredited advanced practice provider program
- Current licensure as an APRN or PA in Rhode Island
